My poster advertises the idea to stop gambling. By using the theme greed I was able to link the two ideas together. At the top of my page “I CAN’T STOP” is written, this is a quote from catch me if you can, said by Carl Hanratty. The full quote is “I can’t stop it’s my job!” which is relevant to the theme greed as Carl is addicted to finding and catching Frank throughout the film. By boldly coloring the lettering I CAN’T STOP, it captures peoples attention and draws them into what is on the rest of the poster. It makes people question themselves, what can’t they stop? By having black on a white background the quote stands out better and is used more effectively. 

The main image represents the greed of gambling (the large hand) pulling a man away from the people who love him, in this case, his mother and father. The large hand has a sleeve which is colored green, the color of greed. The money spilling out of the sleeve signifies the money the man is losing because of his addiction to gambling and the watch on its wrist with the arrows represents an endless watch ticking as he’s wasting so much of his time gambling. The man being dragged is scared and doesn’t want to be dragged away from his family but the part of him that is greedy for money overcomes him and drags him down the path of gambling. The part where the hand is dragging the man away is shaded darkly using a tonal contrast as the rest of the page is white. His parents have a light source around them as they are seen as ‘the light at the end of the tunnel’. The parent’s faces are sad as they can see gambling is taking over their son and dragging him away from them. 

At the bottom of the poster, I have written ‘Gambling Problem? Admit it and call 888 015 3262’- this was used to advertise my poster for gambling and show that it was a proper advertisement.
